Investment consultancy Redington, a trusted advisor to major clients such as pension funds and wealth management firms like St. James's Place (SJP), has been acquired by the global insurance and risk management giant Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. This acquisition enhances Arthur J. Gallagher's consulting capabilities by integrating Redington’s expertise in investment strategy, modelling, and software licensing with its extensive employee benefits and HR consulting services.
Although headquartered in Illinois, Arthur J. Gallagher's UK operations will lead Redington’s integration, guided by David Piltz, head of Gallagher's UK consulting division. Redington’s leadership team, including CEO Sylvia Pozezanac, will retain their roles to ensure a seamless transition and maintain a strong focus on client relationships.
Founded in 2006, Redington has developed into a leading consultancy for wealth managers, endowments, and pension funds, rooted in its founders' investment backgrounds. Previously owned by Phoenix Equity Partners, the firm reported revenues of £33.9m and a profit after tax of £3.7m in 2023. However, it has undergone some restructuring, resulting in a reduced headcount.
Arthur J. Gallagher’s acquisition aligns closely with its goal of delivering superior financial security outcomes for clients worldwide. Gallagher CEO Patrick Gallagher emphasised that Redington’s consulting expertise and strong cultural fit will enhance their advisory services.
This acquisition underscores the growing demand for advisory partnerships in wealth management and insurance, as firms seek to leverage consulting expertise to enhance growth and ensure client success.
