MWA Financial Fuels Growth with FDC Partnership

MWA Financial has partnered with Frontier Development Capital (FDC) to advance its Future Buy Out (FBO) initiative to provide customised succession plans for high-quality advisers. This long-term partnership offers access to substantial capital, enabling MWA to scale its growth strategy through 2025 and beyond.

This year, a significant milestone for MWA was the strategic acquisition of KFA, a Kent-based advisory firm, in May 2024. This acquisition, led by CEO Campbell Banks, further strengthened MWA's position in the UK financial planning sector, highlighting its commitment to expanding its advisory capabilities and regional presence.

Founded in 2016 by Campbell Banks, MWA was inspired by Australia's holistic financial advice model. Banks, who has over 25 years of experience at firms such as ING and AXA Asia Pacific, emphasised the firm’s strong infrastructure, which is designed to attract and integrate top-tier advisers effectively. Executive Chairman Ed Rosengarten, who joined the firm in 2021, has played a crucial role in executing MWA’s ambitious buy-and-build strategy.

The FBO initiative, soft-launched earlier this year, has already facilitated six bespoke deals, with a strong pipeline set to close in early 2025. With Coniston Capital taking a stake in 2023, MWA gained significant buying power and aims to surpass £1bn in AUA by early 2025.

Charlie Robinson, Investment Director at FDC, expressed enthusiasm: “We are thrilled to support MWA’s development plans in the independent financial advice sector.” Coniston Capital’s managing partner, Amit Hindocha, referred to the funding package as “a milestone in progressing MWA’s buy-and-build strategy.”

With a national presence across Hertfordshire, Cornwall, Kent, and beyond, MWA is well-positioned to navigate the evolving independent financial advice market, leveraging strategic funding and customised solutions to drive growth amid industry consolidation.
