Wealthtime, a platform provider, and Copia Capital, a discretionary fund manager, have restructured to form the newly established Quanta Group. This marks their entry into the advisory market by acquiring the independent financial planning firm Craven Street Wealth.
The formation of Quanta Group merges Wealthtime’s platform capabilities with Copia Capital’s discretionary fund management services and Craven Street Wealth’s established financial advice offerings. Founded in 2021, Craven Street Wealth employs 90 staff members, including 30 financial planners, across London and southern England offices. The firm manages approximately £2bn in assets for around 3,500 clients, which brings Quanta Group's total assets under advice to about £16bn, serving nearly 77,000 clients.
Under the new structure, Wealthtime, Copia Capital, and Craven Street will continue to operate independently with separate management teams. Tom Barnett remains the Managing Director of Craven Street Wealth and joins Quanta Group’s executive committee.
Quanta Group's CEO, Patrick Mill, stated that the acquisition highlights the firm’s broader ambition to provide an integrated offering that includes platforms, discretionary investment management, and high-quality financial planning. He noted recent partnerships, including collaborations with Wipro and GBST, to enhance Wealthtime’s technology capabilities. Mill sees the acquisition of Craven Street as a natural extension that will strengthen the group’s market positioning.
Barnett emphasised the strategic alignment between Craven Street and Quanta, particularly regarding the quality of advice, technological innovation, and adaptability to regulatory changes. This acquisition follows Craven Street Wealth’s successful integration of Punter Southall’s financial planning division in January of last year, showcasing its growth potential.
This deal indicates a broader industry trend toward integrated advice, investment management, and digital solutions as firms increasingly seek to go beyond traditional advisory services to meet evolving client expectations and regulatory requirements.
